PROS and CONS: mostly webdesigns

5 PRO

simple, classic primary colors, with a fun twist. Text with personality

I never knew a web layout could be so eye catching. This simple website lays it all in front of you on a desk; a mundane activity, that looks brand new.

A simple web design with bold choices of colors. Simple usually draws people's attentions away, but this web layout gives out a punch using dabs of color, and unique fonts.

This website for a sofa company clearly lays it all out for you. The text "We are Sofa" makes it obvious that it is a sofa company. with a simple layout and unique graphic images, this website gives people the feeling of sophistication in a new fun way.

A black background makes the white text pop; it's as simple as that. The bottom links working as quote bubbles makes the viewer wanting to scroll down for some more.

5 CONS

This web design looks more like the inside of a bad book. It's dull and looks like it's trying too hard.

This web layout on the other hand looks interesting at first, but after a while is just bad for the eyes. You don't know where to look at first and different layouts are flying all over the place.

I think this one speaks for itself. The colors are killer (in a bad way). Once you look at it, you have to look away.

This layout looks like old news, with nascar colors. It's too boring to look at because there is nothing interesting to look at.

The bright colors makes it hard to focus at a certain place. The writings are getting lost into the surroundings and the website design in the back is hard to see as well as the other ones.

numberSIX

THE Fivesix:

cute graphic house. Nice concept, good use of colors, well balanced, and appealing to the eye.

video which speaks for those who can't. cartoons are playful with a hint of sophistication.

colors are difficult to make things feel,
comfortable, but this works.

different use, and format of text, changes the
form of the trees.

good use of type, numbers and paper, to find a sophisticated looking image that shows
depth.

good vs bad

lets start out with the good first...

Cute graphic buttons for everyday people, whether its t.v. watchers, music lovers, fast-food junkies, or game freaks, there is a button for each type of person.

a twist in graphic design. here is a vintage design, which incorporates simple but complex images with typography.

on the other hand. this modern design is very different from the one above. this one has a new, modern feel. and also, each image represents, and symbolizes something.

graphics could also be used in fashion. a colorful background that blends with the model herself. eye-catching color, not too bright.

graphics also in foreign stamps. cute and simple, that's how I like my graphics.

now for the not-so-good...

again with the messiness!!. jumbling up words is not appealing. no concept, and looks like this design wasn't planned out well enough.

now this is obvious.. you can't even read the text!!!! that is a bad choice. what if you wanted to sell something and the customer doesn't have a clue to what you want to sell. It looks like a line on a peace of paper. not interesting whatsoever.

another not-so-successful trip down the graphic road. This book cover might be cool and everything, but in the end, your customers still needs to be able to read it. When I first looked at it, I couldn't even see anything. It says "type addicted" by the way. I bet you didn't know that.

cute but trying too hard.

looks like a time consuming piece, but in the end, looks like an amateur design.

5 designs that are not as strong...

Here are five that I have chosen, to show you what I do not like...

This design looks like its trying too hard, and there are too many things all over the place. You just don't know what to look at.

This on the other hand, has a concept that is hard to grasp at. And its not too interesting to look at.

Design numero three... hmm. it's just all over the place. No focal point, and boring.

This is a very unique design. It a good try, but its trying too hard. Again, too many things all over the place. You want to give your attention to it, but you just give up.

And finally, this designs typography is scattered everywhere. Bunching them up in a corner, will not look too organized. It makes your piece look messy.

some designs that I LIKE:

Here are some designs that I'm interested in:

I love the use of graphic icons to present what it's presenting.

I love the use of typography and how it's depicting the water dripping down. It's also graphic design for a good cause.

Green.
A lovely color.
Simple layout, but very attractive.

newspapers=art

Architecture boring??

Everyone thinks Architecture is boring.. right??. WRONG.. this video makes you want to be a part of the whole process... see for yourself!
